Understanding Maryland Teacher Testing Requirements 

To earn your teacher certification in the state of Maryland, you must demonstrate mastery through the Praxis series. Most candidates must pass: 

  • Content Knowledge: The Praxis Subject Assessments for your specific certification area. 
  • Pedagogy: The Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) or edTPA.
*Note that we only offer the Praxis Subject Assessments and the PLT, not the edTPA exam.
