The Learning Liaisons’ Reading K–12 bootcamp gave me a thorough review of the concepts covered on the FTCE Reading K–12 exam. The website is easy to access and the videos are comprehensive, yet targeted to cover what you need to know. It’s not about knowing everything thing. It’s about knowing the major concepts very well. Everything is interrelated. The teacher, Sarah Hall makes it easy to understand the concepts and she is not monotonous. She’s charming, like a course you enjoy going to because you like learning from that professor. I really appreciate her formative quizzes with each lecture and the summative exam at the end. She discusses all the questions so you understand why the answer was correct/incorrect. Additionally, she uses a lot of scenario-based questions, just like the exam. Dr. J Ampel’s test-taking strategies are useful - I use them with my own students. (Lol! Bonus!) When you start looking at the test using his strategies, you realize that the test is partially WHAT you KNOW, and partially HOW well you TEST. Some of the questions are easily answered just by looking at the answers. Remember you don’t need 100% correct to pass. You need like 72% or so. I aimed for 80%+ when I studied just to make sure. But knowing that it is going to be ok to get some wrong does help reduce the test anxiety.I’m so thankful I found them and purchased the bootcamp. I’m done!!!!!!! Thank you so much!
