Mrs. Christie Ray

School Leadership Specialist

 
 
Christie Ray graduated in 1997 from the University of South Florida with her B.S. in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University, with her Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 2011. 

Developing leaders has become her passion. She has taught Elementary grades K-5 as well as Gifted Education before becoming one of the first in the group of New Teacher Mentors in Hillsborough County Schools under the Measuring Effective Teachers Grant. 

Mrs. Ray became an Assistant Principal before relocating to Orange County Schools in Orlando, Florida to work in the Leadership Pipeline.  There she helped create and facilitate the Aspiring Leaders Academy, Preparing New Principal Academy, and the Emerging Leaders Academy ultimately becoming a principal at Tangelo Park Elementary where she raised the school grade from a State-Controlled three-year grade of a D to a C. 

In 2018 Mrs. Ray moved to Osceola County to become principal of a large K-8 school.  Voted Principal of the Year for Osceola County in 2020 she has served in turnaround schools for over 5 years as principal.  She has experience in private, public, Title I and non-Title I settings. 

She continues her work in Osceola County presenting on topics such as resume building and interviewing skills.  Mrs. Ray is endorsed in Reading, Gifted Education, ESOL and Principal/School leadership.
